Patrick Roy made a name for himself as a breakout 20-year-old star in the 1986 Stanley Cup Playoffs on his way to his first career championship, but his overall body of work with the Montreal Canadiens shows why he is still recognized as one of the greatest goalies of all time. In just his third full season, Roy made his first career All-Star Game, something he would do a total of six times in his Montreal tenure. His work in goal stood out so much that he received the Vezina Trophy three times, the highest honor for the position as it recognizes the top goaltender in the league for that year. Roy would go on to win one more Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe Trophy with the Canadiens before winning two more Stanley Cups with the Colorado Avalanche.
