Born in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, Matt Savoie brings an impressive resume to his first NHL team. Prior to the NHL, Savoie signed with the Winnipeg Ice in June of 2019. In his first full season with Winnipeg Savoie led all rookies in scoring with 90 points in just 65 games ranking seventh overall and third on the team. This impressive season caught the attention of the NHL as Savoie would be drafted ninth overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and sign a three-year entry-level contract. Re-assigned to the Ice the following season Savoie showed the Sabres exactly why they drafted him putting up even better numbers than his previous season with 95 points in just 62 games. While Savoie has only had about four minutes of ice time in the NHL so far his time is coming as he continues to put up impressive numbers in the CHL.
