During the 2018-19 NHL season the Edmonton Oilers celebrated the franchise’s 40th anniversary with various activities as well as a special patch worn on all player jerseys throughout the regular season. The anniversary patch features the jersey numbers of the six Oilers Hall of Fame players. The shoulder patch also has five Stanley Cups incorporated in the design as an ode to the championships won by the organization over the 40 years in existence.
