What we Know About Sword and Shield

So far, a few details have been discovered and learned about Pokémon Sword in Shield, including the region and the starter Pokémon.

The region is set in an area known as Galar, which as has been the case with previous Pokémon games, is inspired by a real world location.

This time, the Galar region has been inspired by the United Kingdom during the industrial revolution, with a few quirky twists thrown in, think Steampunk and you will get a good idea of what this will look like.

Finally, the last few details that we know about the game so far, is that unlike “Let’s Go Pikachu!, Let’s Go Eevee!”, Pokémon’s last game to be released on the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Sword and Shield will be based on a more traditional Pokémon gameplay style, meaning that the old fighting system that has been traditionally used will be re-implemented.

Gyms, which took a break in Pokémon Sun & Moon will also be returning! Which is great news to many fans of the genre.

What Will We Learn?

The most major news that could be released during the June 5th announcement is of course the release date, of which we have previously discussed.

However, so many more facts remain to be learned about this game, including the evolution chain of the three starter Pokémon Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble.

Who will they evolve into, what will their evolved forms look like?

What unique mechanics will this region implement, and what new Pokémon are set to be released in this game, adding their names to players Pokédex?
