Every Secret Rare Card Appearing in Pokemon TCG’s Ultra Prism Expansion

Pokemon TCG’s Sun and Moon Series is getting a new release in just a few weeks by the name of Ultra Prism. The ultra prism release is centered around Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, two versions of the video game which were released a little bit ago.

 

There’s plenty to talk about for this new release, as it features over 170 cards and introduces a new type of card to the game, but for this post we’re going to focus in on the 17 secret rare cards:

Solgaleo-GX

Solgaleo-GX

The basics:

  • Metal-type
  • Stage 2

Ability:

  • Ultra Road: Once during your turn (before your attack), you may switch your Active Pokemon with 1 of your Benched Pokemon

Moves:

  • Sunsteel Strike: 2 Metal Energy, 1 Colorless Energy. Deals 230 damage. Discard all Energy from this Pokemon.
  • Sol Burst GX: 1 Metal Energy. Search your deck for up to 5 Energy cards and attach them to your Pokemon in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

Lunala GX

Lunala-GX

The basics:

  • Psychic-type
  • Stage 2

Ability:

  • Psychic Transfer: As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may move a Psychic Energy from 1 of your Pokemon to another of your Pokemon.

Moves:

 

  • Moongeist Beam: 4 Psychic Energy. 120 Damage. The Defending Pokemon can’t be healed during your opponent’s next turn.

 

  • Lunar Fall GX: 3 Psychic Energy. Knock Out 1 of your opponent’s Basic Pokemon that isn’t a Pokemon-GX. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Unit Energy LPL

The basics:

  • Special Energy Card

Description:

  • This card provides Colorless Energy. While this card is attached to a Pokemon, it provides Lightning, Psychic, and Metal Energy, but provides only 1 Energy at a time.

UNIT ENERGY GFW

The basics:

  • Special Energy Card

Description:

  • This card provides Colorless Energy. While this card is attached to a Pokemon, it provides Grass, Fire, and Water Energy, but provides only 1 Energy at a time.

Peeking Red Card

Peeking Red Card

The basics:

  • Item Card

Description:

  • Your opponent reveals their hand. You may have your opponent count the cards in their hand, shuffle those cards into their deck, then draw that many cards.

Missing Clover

The basics:

  • Item Card

Description:

  • You may play 4 Missing Clover cards at once. If you play 1 card, look at the top card of your deck. If you play 4 cards, take a Prize card. (This effect works one time for 4 cards.)

Escape Board

The basics:

  • Pokemon Tool

Description:

  • The Retreat Cost of the Pokemon this card is attached to is one energy less, and it can retreat even if it’s Asleep or Paralyzed.

Crushing Hammer

The basics:

  • Item Card

Description:

  • Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy from 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon.

Palkia GX

The basics:

  • Dragon-type
  • Basic

Moves:

 

  • Spatial Control: 1 Water Energy. Move any number of Energy from your Benched Pokemon to this Pokemon

 

  • Hydro Pressure: 3 Colorless Energy. 60+ damage. This attack does 20 more damage times the amount of Water Energy attached to this Pokemon.

 

  • Zero Vanish GX: 3 Water Energy, 2 Colorless Energy. 150 Damage. Shuffle all Energy from each of your opponent’s Pokemon into their deck. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Dialga GX

The basics:

  • Dragon-type
  • Basic

Moves:

 

  • Overclock: 1 Metal Energy. Draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand.

 

  • Shred: 1 Metal Energy, 2 Colorless Energy. 80 Damage. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by any effects on your opponent’s Active Pokemon.

 

  • Timeless GX: 3 Metal Energy, 2 Colorless Energy. 150 Damage. Take another turn after this one. (Skip the between turns step.) (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Dusk Mane Necrozma-GX

The basics:

  • Metal-type
  • Basic

Moves:

 

  • Claw Slash: 3 Colorless Energy. 60 Damage.

 

  • Meteor Tempest: 3 Metal energy, 1 Colorless Energy. 220 Damage. Discard 3 Energy cards from this Pokemon.

 

  • Sun’s Eclipse GX: 3 Metal energy. 250 Damage. You can use this attack only if you have more Prize cards remaining than your opponent. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Celesteela-GX

The basics:

  • Metal-type
  • Basic

Moves:

 

  • Rocket Fall: 1 Metal Energy, 2 Colorless Energy. 30+ Damage. This attack does 30 more damage for each Energy in your opponent’s Active Pokemon Retreat Cost.

 

  • Moon Press: 1 Metal Energy, 3 Colorless Energy. 130 Damage.

 

  • Blaster GX: 1 Metal Energy, 3 Colorless Energy. 180 Damage. Turn all of your Prize cards face up. (Those Prize cards remain face up for the rest of the game.) (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Dawn Wings Necrozma-GX

The basics:

  • Psychic-type
  • Basic

Ability:

 

  • Invasion: Once during your turn (before your attack), if this Pokemon is on your Bench, you may switch it with your Active Pokemon.

 

Moves:

 

  • Dark Flash: 3 Psychic Energy. 120 Damage. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Resistance.

 

  • Moon’s Eclipse GX: 3 Psychic Energy. 180 Damage. You can only use this attack if you have more Prize cards than your opponent. Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokemon during your opponent’s next turn. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Xurkitree-GX

The basics:

  • Lightning-type
  • Basic

Ability:

 

  • Flashing Head: Prevent all damage done to this Pokemon by attacks from your opponent’s Pokemon that have any Special Energy attached to them..

 

Moves:

 

  • Rumbling Wires: 2 Lightning Energy, 1 Colorless Energy. 100 Damage. Discard the top card of your opponent’s deck.

 

  • Lightning GX: 1 Lightning Energy. Your opponent reveals their hand. Add a card you find there to their Prize cards face down. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Glaceon-GX

The basics:

  • Water-type
  • Stage 1

Ability:

 

  • Freezing Gaze: As long as this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, your opponent’s Pokemon-GX and Pokemon-EX in play, in their hand, and in their discard pile have no abilities, except for Freezing Gaze.

 

Moves:

 

  • Frost Bullet: 1 Water Energy, 2 Colorless Energy. 90 Damage. This attack does 30 amage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. (Don’t apply Weakness and REsistance for Benched Pokemon.)

 

  • Polar Spear GX: 1 Water Energy, 2 Colorless Energy. 50x Damage. This attack does 50 damage for each damage counter on your opponent’s Active Pokemon. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Pheromosa-GX

Pheromosa-GX

The basics:

  • Grass-type
  • Basic

Moves:

 

  • Fast Raid: 1 Grass Energy. 30 Damage. If you go first, you can use this attack on your first turn.

 

  • Cruel Spike: 2 Grass Energy. 60 Damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Confused.

 

  • Beauty GX: 2 Grass Energy. 50x Damage. This attack does 50 damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Leafeon-GX

Leafeon-GX

The basics:

  • Grass-type
  • Stage 1

Ability:

 

  • Breath of the Leaves: If this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, once during your turn (before your attack), you may heal 50 damage from 1 of your Pokemon that has any Energy attached to it.

 

Moves:

 

  • Solar Beam: 1 Grass Energy, 2 Colorless Energy. 110 Damage.

 

  • Grand Bloom GX: 1 Grass Energy. For each of your Benched Basic Pokemon, search your deck for a card that evolves from that Pokemon and put it onto that Pokemon to evolve it. Then shuffle your deck. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

 

Conclusion,

This new set features some powerful and rare cards. I can already see a few of these being used in tournaments, which will only increase their value! This is a great set to collect and play with, so I’d definitely recommend picking up a box or two during our Pre-order sale:
