The Pale Moon GX Box and Trevenant & Dusknoir GX Deck Tech

The Pokémon Trading Card game is constantly coming out with new products, constantly creating new cards, adding exciting new gameplay and dynamics to not only the Standard format, but also the older formats, such as Expanded.

Today, we are going to look at one of the newest Pokémon TCG products to be released, what is contained within that product and also highlight a deck tech featuring the key card contained within.

Today, we explore the incredibly creepy Pale Moon GX Box.

What is Contained Within the Pale Moon GX Box?

Contained within the Pale Moon GX Box are four Pokémon TCG booster packs, three of which are from recent sets and one from an older era, but of which sets you may ask? They are as follows;

X2 Sun & Moon Unified Minds Booster Packs

X1 Sun & Moon Lost Thunder Booster Pack

X1 X&Y Steam Siege Booster Pack

Both the Unified Minds and the Lost Thunder booster packs contain cards that are playable in the current standard format, however, the Steam Siege booster pack can only be played in older formats, such as Expanded, however, this is not a problem in relation to today’s article, as the deck list that we will be featuring is intended for the Expanded format.

In addition to these booster packs, you will also receive both a normal version and oversized version of the key card contained within the packaging, featuring the amazingly fun to play Trevenant & Dusknoir GX Tag Team Black Star Promo card.

This card is number 217 in the incredibly exclusive Sun & Moon Black Star promo set, a set that features limited edition cards that can only be found in additional supplemental products, and of which are not contained within normal booster boxes, or booster packs.

Finally, the last item you will get is a code card, that can be used to redeem this card and obtain it on the Pokémon Online Trading Card Game.

Trevenant & Dusknoir GX Tag Team Deck Tech

Now that you know what you will be getting within the Pale Moon GX box, we are going to proceed forward, highlighting a very fun (at least for you) deck tech, featuring this key card as its all star player.

This deck comes together in a wonderful fashion, gaining you overwhelming card advantage, that can often shut your opponent entirely out of the game, putting them at the mercy of the next card they draw, hoping that it can get them back into the game, however, often discovering that they are stumped.

The Pale Moon GX Box and Trevenant & Dusknoir GX Deck Tech

This is done by implementing a number of cards, creating a combo that is surprisingly easy to assemble.

First, all you need to do is begin the setup process, using your various trainer item and supporter cards to mill through your deck, getting energy into your discard pile. Once this is done, and you have achieved getting your Milotic and Trevenant & Dusknoir GX Tag Team card onto the board, the magic comes together.

Using Milotic’s ability “Energy Grace”, you can sacrifice it and attach three energy to your Trevenant & Dusknoir GX, immediately powering it up and allowing it to use its attacks when ready.

Next, you can either attack with Trevenant & Dusknoir GX doing an impressive 150 damage with the “Night Watch” attack, while also causing them to discard two cards from their hand, or you can do something even more sinister to them, the latter of which of course we prefer.

The big set up is using Milotic, powering up Trevenant & Dusknoir GX, then using Ace Trainer to cause them to draw down to three cards. Because Milotic sacrifices itself, causing your opponent to take a prize card, you can almost always ensure that Ace Trainer will work.

Once your opponent is down to three cards, then all you have to do is attack with Trevenant & Dusknoir GX, forcing them down to just a measly one card!

As an added bonus, Lavender Town allows you see all this unfold, as you know exactly what your opponent is doing and the remaining few cards that they have in hand.

The Pokémon TCG is all about drawing cards, gas is the name of the game and if you force your opponent down to no cards, they are often just simply stuck, unable to do anything at all and just sitting there, while your Trevenant & Dusknoir GX, or one of the many other great Pokémon such as Mewtwo EX simply finishes them off.

This is a fun deck to play for you and is one that features a different style of gameplay in the Expanded format.

Conclusion

We hope that you enjoyed our deck tech feature of Trevenant & Dusknoir Tag Team GX and hope that it has peaked your interest in the Pale Moon GX box, which is an amazing product that features not only great cards, but some quality booster packs as well.

Let us know what you think and if you have had a chance to test this deck out, we’d love to hear about your experiences with it and as always, thanks for reading!
