Pokémon Day, if you’re unaware, is the day which celebrates the Pokémon franchise’s birthday, and occurs each year on February 27th. This year, Pokémon’s turning 22 so you know there’s going to be a big celebration.

Watch Pokémon Anime Season and Movies
On Pokémon TV, the online and mobile streaming platform for watching Pokémon episodes and movies, there will be several movies and episodes available to watch. These include:
- In some areas, a remastered first season of the Pokémon anime will premiere.
- The first Pokémon movie will be available to watch on Pokémon TV
- Pokémon 4Ever and Pokémon – Zoroark: Master of Illusions are also airing on Pokémon TV.
- And lastly, several episodes of the anime seasons will be available to watch.
Catch Special Party Hat Pikachu in Pokémon Go
For Pokémon Go players there’s already been some fun events in the past few days, but there’s still more to look forward to! From february 26th to march 6th, wild Pikachu will wear party hats to celebrate the series 21st birthday. These Pikachu will wear their party hats forever, so it’s a great opportunity to catch a fun event Pokémon.
Pokémon Twitch Streams
In addition to the movies and anime, there will also be Twitch streams of matches from both the trading card game and the various video games. This includes top battles from the recent Pokémon World Championships, as well as older battles. It’s a great fix for competitive Pokémon fans.
New Pokémon Movie Available for Purchase
Talking about movies again, those who love to watch the films can purchase the most recent movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, on iTunes and Amazon Video. If you missed it, the film aired back in december on Disney XD and features the legendary Pokémon Volcanion and Magearna.
Specially Styled Nintendo 3DS XL
Lastly, there’s going to be a specially styled Nintendo 3DS XL. It’s styled after Pikachu in honor of Pokémon Day and you can also get a single special bottle cap item at Gamestop if you decide to check it out. Hurry though! These types of special designs tend to sell out quick!
